Title: Financial Accountant

Job Description

  • We’re on an evolutionary journey where we’re changing our story. We are looking to hire an experienced Accounts Officer, Accounts Receivable to join our diverse team in our Company.
  • In this role, you will work closely with our Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and departments across the Group.
  • You will be responsible for recording and reporting all accounts receivable transactions and all relevant system uploads.

Responsibilities
As a Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the general ledger. Review and post financial transactions into accounting software, making accruals and adjustments as needed.
  • Preparing and analysing profit or loss statements and monthly close accounting reports
  • Performing monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation, resolving outstanding/unusual items or accounting entry discrepancies
  • Advising management and relevant finance staff on acceptable accounting policies e.g. revenue, receivables, depreciation, taxation etc
  • Preparing and manage fixed assets register.
  • Reconciling all ledgers to produce year end trial balances and reports.
  • Preparing the annual statutory financial reports, making appropriate disclosures
  • Managing accounting applications and ensure integrity of financial reports.
  • Preparing work papers for audit and pre-qualification/tender documentation purposes
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders to produce the annual budget for the business.
  • Liaising with relevant external bodies/contacts e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers etc
  • Preparing reports of audit findings, outlining discrepancies and recommended workable solutions.
  • Implementing risk management procedures and internal controls
  • Ensuring strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures and comply with safe work methods as required.
  • Performing any other duty that may be assigned by Supervisor/line Manager.

Requirements
What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Economics or other related field.
  • Relevant professional qualification e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA)
  • 5 years’ work experience in the Finance/ Treasury/ Accounts function in a similar organization.
  • Experience in finance and accounting. Deep knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of IFRS would be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of financial reporting tools
  • Strong Integrity.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret financial reports.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to lead and coach direct reports to improve efficiency and competency.

Title:  Planning, Economics & Commercial Manager

Responsibilities
As a Planning, Economics & Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating the compilation of capital and operating expenditure plans, production forecasts, and planned downtime events from different departments. Aggregate information, and work with departments and management to prioritize and schedule activities/expenditures to fit budget guidelines.
  • Developing short-, medium-, and long-term expenditure plans, oil, gas and water production forecasts, flare gas forecasts, and corresponding cashflow forecasts.
  • Working with Joint Venture (JV) partners to gain alignment on JV priorities and budgets.
  • Being involved in budget performance reviews and budget realignment activities with JV partners.
  • Keeping abreast of alternative financing programs and ensure all Planning deliverables are met within the stipulated timelines.
  • Implementing controls to ensure budget line owners do not exceed their budgets without appropriate approval process.
  • Facilitating performance reviews to monitor the performance of departments and projects relative to budgets.
  • Being familiar with relevant Nigerian fiscal terms including the Petroleum Profits Tax Act, Company Income Tax Act, and the Petroleum Industry Act.
  • Building new economic models or revising existing models to ensure that the models capture the reality of the investments being evaluated.
  • Collating, reviewing, and discussing input data and economic assumptions to undertake sound and profitability analysis for the OML 42 Asset.
  • Carrying out economic and financial evaluations of investment proposals including development drilling, facility investments, and exploration drilling.
  • Developing presentations to effectively communicate budgets, forecasts, economic analysis results and recommendations to both internal and external audiences.
  • Performing any other required planning and economic analysis functions.
  • Leading development and review of agreements and commercial negotiations.

Requirements
What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Economics / Engineering or any related numeric field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or higher position.
  • Extensive experience in financial and economic modelling of oil and gas investments.
  • Experience in planning or budgeting function would be an advantage
  • Experience in negotiating commercial terms would be an advantage.
  • Excellent skills in financial and economic modeling as well as investment appraisal
  • Familiarity with economic modelling software or spreadsheet models
  • Knowledge of oil & gas market and the key value drivers
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and able to work in cross-functional teams

Title: Petroleum Engineering Team Lead

The role will cover subsurface oil and gas development, production support, well engineering and development planning economics.
  • Work with other job functions in the Asset Development, Engineering & Major Capital Projects, Operations, and other units to maximize the value of the company’s oil and gas reserves and resources.
  • Activities include field development planning, performance monitoring, reserves assessments, reservoir and well modelling, production forecasting, identification of well intervention and drilling opportunities, and economic evaluation.

Responsibilities
As an Experienced Petroleum Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with other disciplines to carry out annual review of and updates to oil and gas reserves to ensure estimates are reliable.
  • Providing timely requisite reports for statutory and business needs.
  • Providing operational guidance to the activities of Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, Well Engineering, G&G services and technical support.
  • Managing production and cost forecasting for business planning.
  • Supervising the planning of drilling activities for reservoir development and contribute in the preparation of the Drilling/Workover plans

While working closely with other disciplines, carrying out petroleum engineering aspects of oil developments. This includes:

  • Nodal analysis to estimate well production potentials.

  • Working with economic analyst to rank well drilling opportunities to ensure that the most profitable opportunities are drilled earliest when practical.
  • Working with engineers working on oil assets to coordinate development of oil rims and gas caps in reservoirs with thin oil rims and large gas caps.
  • Visiting field locations to become familiar with oil production and gas processing assets, and for other reasons related to responsibilities.
  • Participating in formulating conceptual development plans of exploration opportunities, estimating the corresponding investment and production potential, and the resulting economic value.
  • Preparing and updating Field Development Plans and participate in securing Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) approval.
  • Meeting with officials of NUPRC as required to obtain well intervention, well drilling and project approvals. Provide information and clarity on projects, or any other issues that may arise
  • Meeting with personnel of NNPC E&P Limited (NEPL) – our JV partners – as required to reach alignment on projects, or any other issues that may arise.
  • Participating in the computation of flare numbers to ensure that they are accurate. Recommend the installation of meters where required.
